Asagiri Highland (朝霧高原) is one of the greatest Mt. Fuji view spot. It is located on the north west side of Mt. Fuji in Shizuoka Prefecture. The average altitude of the highland is about 800m from the sea level. There are many camping spots and golf courses. Also, because of the cool weather, there are many ranches which offers great milk products. Many people visit those ranches and take photo of caws with Mt. Fuji.

Minamoto no Yoritomo did Makigari, the deer hunting for military training, at Asagiri highland in 1193. Because its scale was so huge, it was called Fuji no Makigari.
Asagiri literary means a morning mist. It was named that because this area frequently has a mist in the morning.
Because it has huge open field, it is also popular paraglider spots.
