Geibi Valley

Travel Information

Geibi Valley (猊鼻渓) is popular tourist spot in Ichinoseki, Iwate. It is chosen as one of the three major valleys and 100 best views in Japan. Geibi Valley is abotu 2km long and its side cliffs are about 50m high. There is a boat riding to enjoy this valley. It is very famous for Koyo spot and Fuji flower spots. It offers all aspect of seasonable beauty.

You can enjoy it only from the boat-riding.
Admission for boat riding: 1500 yen. Group discount from 15 persons.
Last boat: 15:00 (winter) 16:30 (summer)
Tour time: about 90 min.

0. at Ichinoseki Station.
1. use JR Ofunato Line to Geibikei (30 min.)
2. walk (10 min.)
There is a direct bus from Hiraizumi.

In winter, the boat will be covered and Kotatsu (the foot heater) will be placed.
There is a wedding service on the boat.

Gei means Lion.

There is a hole on the nose of Lion. You can throw a rock and challenge your luck.

The boatman (women) will sing the local song.
