Matsumoto is the castle town for over 400 years. Nakamachi Street has the look of castle town. From May to December, every Saturday, it has an open market which sells local products, such as vegetable, flowers and fruits.
Nakamachi Street (中町通り) is a shopping district with Edo Style building. It was used to be the road leading to Zenkoji Temple. There are many interesting shops. The shops here have unique feature and products to sell, especially fashion shops, antique shops and food shops.
