Upstream of the Ino river are three large Keyhole-shaped Kofun that comprises the Hodota Kofun group. Futagoyama Kofun is one of the three, with a large mound 108m in length, and 213s including the double moats. During the Kofun period (3rd to 6th century), the center of politics was in the Yamato area but the Gunma area was also a powerful region. The king who lies in this kofun had gained great economic strength by controlling agricultural irrigation, and is believed to have been closely related with the Yamato area, or even with the Korean cultures.
Hachimanzuka Kofun
It is 102m long, 56m tall keyhole-shaped Kofun. The structure is fully restored and you can see the chamber.
Yakushizuka Kofun
It is about 100m long kofun. This one is located in the temple, so most of the part has been lost.
