旅遊詳情介紹

Shiramine Shrine
Shiramine Shrine enshrines Emperor Sudoku and Emperor Junin. Following the last wishes of his father Emperor Komei, the Meiji Emperor brought peace to the spirit of Emperor Sudoku in 1868 by building this shrine and bringing the deity from Shiramine, in Kagawa Prefecture. Emperor Sutoku was exited to what is now Kagawa Prefecture after the Hogen era of the 12th century.

In 1873, Emperor Junnin was enshrined here alongside Emperor Sutoku. Emperor Junnin was exited to Awaji Island following a power struggled between the priest Dokyo and Emi-no-Oshikatsu during the Nara period.

The shrine stands on the site of the residence of the Askai clan, which is credited with the creation of the ancient football game called Kemari and the Japanese style of poetry known as Waka. The guardian deity of the clan was Mari, Ball, Seidaimyojin, Who is today revered by lovers of ball sports.
