Northern Akita area has the rich nature with heavy snow. Because this area is surrounded by mountains, there are many great hiking spots, waterfalls, and forests where you can enjoy great nature. Lake Towada is also a part of this area.
Also, in this area, there are many historical sites, especially Jomon period that is over 4000 years ago.
