At the end of Bamboo Walk, walk north to Jojakkoji Temple. It is also one of the best Koyo spots in Kyoto. This temple has the view of Wabi-Sabi. Wabi-Sabi is one of the artificial term of Zen Philosophy.
Next, Rakushisya that is a Japanese garden and house that designed by the student of Matsuo Basho. This garden also has a view of Wabi-Sabi. Feel what is that philosophy by your sense.
Then, walk north to Nisonin temple. This temple is very old temple in Kyoto. It was established in 8th century. The main path is very popular Koyo spot as well. It has beautiful Japanese Maple Avenue.
From this area to the north is called Sagano. Sagano has many traditional buildings that is preserved for its beautiful scenery. It has quiet but rich history of Kyoto.
At the end, you can take a bus to back to Kyoto Station. If you have extra time, walk east to Daikakuji Temple. Daikakuji is also one of the best temple in Kyoto. It has a beautiful gardens as well. This temple has many buildings that removed from the imperial palace because it was used to be the 2nd imperial palace of Emperor Saga.
Arashiyama has a beautiful scenery with rich nature and traditional temples. If you have only one chance to visit Kyoto, Arashiyama is one of your choice.
Arashiyama (嵐山) is one of the best tourist spot in Kyoto. It is located western Kyoto and surrounded by Mountains that offers beautiful Koyo, the autumn leaves, in Fall. There are many historic temples, classic view and rich nature. Therefore, it was used to be 2nd house resort for Nobles and the imperial families during Heian period. Today, it still remains the classic view of Kyoto with rich nature and traditional temples. The most famous bamboo grove walk is also located in Arashiyama.
