Gifu Prefecture (岐阜県) is located in the Chubu Region,and geological center of Japan. It is mostly divided by two areas, Hida area and Mino area. Hida area is the north of Gifu which surrounded over 3,000m high mountains which offers lots of beautiful nature to the tourist. The major tourist attraction in this area is Takayama and Shirakawa-go, which is registered UNESCO world heritage site. South of Gif is called Mino or Gifu area. Gifu city is the capital of the Gifu prefecture. Ceramic work of Mino is called Minoyaki, and Gifu produce more than 50% of the its share.
