the deepest lake
Lake Tazawa (田沢湖) is a green water lake located in Akita Prefecture. It is the 19th biggest lake in Japan and deepest lake in Japan. It's a crater lake and the deepest point is 423m from the surface. The altitude of this lake is 249m from the sea level. Because of the depth, the color of the water changes from blue to green. There are many water activities you can enjoy. Also, it has a nice beach on the lake.

There are parking and restroom at many spots.
Access
0. at Kakunodate Station.
1. use JR Tazawa Line to Tazawako Station.
2. use a local bus to Tazawako.
