Oldest Stone Bridge
Megane Bridge (眼鏡橋) is the first stone bridge ever built in Japan. It is located in Nagasaki prefecture. It was constructed in 1634 by the priest of Kofuku-ji temple. Megane means a pair of glasses. Because the shape of the bridge and the reflections on the water looks like man's glasses, people call it Megane bridge. It is registered as the national important cultural asset and still in use.
