Oyu Stone Circle (大湯環状列石) is one of the historic site located in Kazuno, Akita. It is the stone circles that made in Jomon period (2000 to 1500 BCE). There are many stone circles in this site. One of them is 46m long and the largest stone circle in Japan. It was used to be the grave because people found many relics at this place. The other one might be used as the calendar and clock.

There are parking and restroom.
Time: 9:00 to 18:00 (Apr. to Oct.) 9:00 to 16:00 (Nov. to Mar.)
Closed: Monday only in winter.

Access
0. at Odate Station.
1. use JR Towada-Hachimantai Shikisai Line to Kazuno Hanawa Station.
2. use a bus to Kanjoressekimae.

Oyu Stone Circle
The site consists of two large stone circles located on an artificially flattened plateau on the left bank of the Oyu River, a tributary of the Yoneshiro River in northeastern Akita Prefecture.

There are two stone circles, Nonakado and Manza. It was created in Jomon period. This site is about 4,000 years ago. These stone circles are formed with over 100 stone circles. It was used as the clock and graves.

Nonakado Stone Circle is about 44m diameter, and Manza Stone Circle is the about 52m diameter. There are many earthenwares and stonewares found on this site.
