Ozu Castle is a hilltop castle located Ozu, Ehime prefecture. Originally, it was constructed in 1331 by Utsunomiya Toyofusa. In 1595, Todo Takatora moved in this castle and extended Ozu Castle to current structure.
Current Tenshu was reconstructed in 2004. Tenshu is 4 layers 4 stories building. The construction of Tenshu took exactly the same way of wooden structure in the original building. Therefore, inside of Tenshu has the best architecture of Traditional Japanese buildings. Also, two Yagura, keep, that connect to Tenshu are the original construction built in Edo period. There are 2 other Yagura also remain in Ozu.
Stone walls and moats are also remained great condition.
