100 Best Castles
Saga Castle (佐賀城) is one of the flatland castles located in Saga Prefecture. It was constructed in 1573 by Ryuzoji clan. Saga Castle is chosen as one of 100 best Japanese castles. Current castle was built in 1611 by Nabeshima clan. The mail palace was restored as the original building in 2004. All the structures and architectures are exactly the same based on the blueprint. Saga was very strong gun producing domain during Edo period. The height of this passage is designed high to show the power of the lord. A there exhibition hall where artifacts are displayed.
