Takaoka Great Buddha was first constructed in 1745, but has often burnt down. The current Buddha was completed in 1933, based on a model made by Nakano Souzan, and is a majestic symbol of Takaoka's copper working heritage. Takaoka Great Buddha is known as one of the Three Great Buddhas of Japan.
It is Amitabha, the same as Kamakura Great Buddha. It is located in Daibutsuji temple of Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture.
The height of the statue is 7.43m tall.
