Hiking at Kisokomagatake is one of the popular hiking in Japan. Kisokomagatake is one of the 100 best Japanese mountains. The altitude difference is about 340m and you can reach the top is very easy.
Start from Suganodaira Station and use a local bus to Shibiredaira Station. Then, use a ropeway. Chuo Alps Ropeway(中央アルプスロープウェイ) is located in Komagane, Nagano Prefecture. It connects to the Senjojiki Cirque. It is the highest altitude station in Japan that has 2,612m high. You can see the great view of all the Chuo Alps and Minami Alps. There are many waterfalls on the way to Senjojiki Station. It will be super clouded during the summer season.
SenjojikiSenjojiki Cirque (千畳敷カール) is one of the best scenic spots located in Chuo Alps, Nagano Prefecture. It is a wide-open valley with an altitude is over 2,600m from the sea levels. The scenery of the Cirque is just like the Alps. It is also known as the flower land with many mountain flowers.
From the Senjojiki Station. It takes about 2 hours to reach the top of Kisokomagatake. If you have extra time, you can make travel to Mt. Hoken. Mt. Hoken is a very dangerous mountain. So, be careful when you visit there.
