Travel Information

Enzan (塩山) is Takeda Shingen related spot located in northern Yamanashi Prefecture. There are many Takeda Shingen and Takeda clan spots including Shingen's and his Samurai graves. Most of the temple here are over 600 years old and have beautiful gardens.

Enzan
Erinji Temple
Erinji was established in 1380, and one of the major temple in Yamanashi. There are the graves of Takeda Shingen and his Samurai. The site of this temple is designated as the national historical sites and its garden is desiginated as the national scenic beauty. There is also Takeda Shingen Museum that displays lots of Shingen's relics.

Shikyakumon Gate: National Important Cultural Assets. It was burnt down by Oda Nobunaga, and reconstructed by Tokugawa Ieyasu in 1606.

Hokoji Temple
In late Heian Period, it was established by the grandson of Shinra Yoshimitsu who is the ancestor of Takeda clan. There are beautiful Nio Statues that was made in Kamakura period. It has also beautiful garden.

Kogakuji Temple
Kogakuji temple means facing Mt. Fuji. Kogakuji was established by donation of Takeda clan in 1380.
