Hida Great Limestone Cave (飛騨大鍾乳洞) is one of the largest cave located in Takayama, Gifu Pref. It is about 800m long Limestone cave with three great spaces. This cave was created over approximately 250 million years. Its altitude is over 900m from the sea level which is the highest cave in Japan. It has a mysterious light-up. There is also the museum located at the entrance of the cave. This museum displays the treasure collection's founder of the cave Mr. Ohashi.

There are parking and restroom.
Admission: 1100 yen for adult, 550 yen for kids.
There is a group discount.
Time: 8:00 to 17:00 (Apr. to Oct.) 9:00 to 16:00 (Nov. to Mar.)

Access
You need a car to visit here. From Takayama, drive 158 east to Matsumoto.
Takes 20 min.

Hida Great Limestone Cave
Hida Great Limestone Cave is a 800m long great cave located in Takayama city. There are 3 major spaces and each of them has the exits.

-Night of Dragon Palace-
This surreal scene greets you upon entering the Hida Great Limestone Cave. It is deliberately lit with red and blue lights to prevent moss from growing.

It has a dramatic cleft in the rock.
