Mt. Kintoki (金時山, Kintokiyama) is one of the best Mt. Fuji view spot located in Hakone, Kanagawa prefecture. It is 1,213m tall. The top of the mountain is on the border of Shizuoka and Kanagawa pref. There are many hiking courses. Because it has a great view of Mt. Fuji, it is very popular hiking spot near Tokyo. There is a cafe on the top. This mountain is also known as the birthplace of Kintaro, the famous fairy tale.

Hiking Courses:
Kintoki Shrine Course: There is free parking. 30 min. Hard.
Ashigara Toge Course: There is parking. Great view of Mt. Fuij. Normal.
Otome Toge Course: There is expensive parking. Great view of Mt. Fuji. Hard.
Kintokiyama Course: There is parking. Easy.

Mt. Kintoki is one of Hakone mountains located on the border of Shizuoka and Kanagawa Prefecture. It is 1,213m tall. It has many hiking courses and a great view of Mt. Fuji from the top of Mt. Fuji.

All of the courses take only less than 2 hours. There is a restroom on the top of mountain. Also, the restaurant and cafe on the top as well.

This mountain is also known as the birthplace of Kintaro story. In Heian period, one of the famous general, Sakata Kintoki, was born at here. His young name was Kintaro. He was known as the strongest guy in Japan. Legend said, he did Sumo with wild bear on the top of this mountain.
