Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden

Mukojima Hyakkaen Garden (向島百花園) is one of flower gardens in Tokyo. Hyakka literary means 100 flowers. There are over 15,00 trees and flowers which bloom in each seasons. It is registered as the national scenic beauty and historical assets. It was used to be a plum gardens, but today many flowers which mostly related with Japanese or Chinese poem. The flowers of this garden blooms all through a year, so you can always enjoy blossoms.

Admission: 150 Yen, seniors 70 yen, under junior high free.
There are group discount from 20 persons.
Open: 9:00 to 17:00, the last entry 16:30.

Especially, the tunnel of Hagi is very famous in this garden.

This garden was built in early 19th century when the flower calture was effloresced in Edo. It was plum garden at the beginning. Later, they planted many seasonable flowers that also related with Japanese and Chinese poem. Because this garden is built by merchant and for all citizens, the design of the garden has a very different beauty from other Japanese gardens that is made by Daimyo.
