Sankyo Soko is the famous rice storages located in Sakata, Yamagata Prefecture. It was constructed in 1893 by Sakai clan, the former lord of Shonai. Because of the strong basement, these storages are earthquakepoof buildings.
Keyaki Trees are planted to protect the strong winter wind and strong Sun light to keep the moisture and temperature the same. The buildings also has the same structure to keep them the same.
Because of the beautiful black walls and Keyaki ave., this is one of the most popular spots in Sakata and many movie and TV show such as Oshin was shot in this place.
