Udatsuyama Temple Town (卯辰山山麓寺院群) is one of Kyoto looking town in Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture. There are abotu 50 temples in this town and that creat the beautiful scenery of the traditional Japan. There is a strolling trail called "Kokoro no michi, heartful road in Japanese." Beacuse of these beautiful buildings of temples, this town is registered as Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

Udatsuyama Temple Town

Around 1596 to 1681, many temples were established and moved at Udatsuyama. This temple town remains the still the look of late Edo period and those scenery is registered as the Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.

Because this area is located on the bottom of Mt. Udatsu, many temples has the narrow streets and angled land. It has a very unique view with all temples and traditional houses mixed together. The streets and walls of each temples represent the old view of Kanazawa very well. Eeach temples has a beautiful garden as well.

You will feel the history and culture of Kanazawa in this area.

Renjoji Great Buddha
Renjoji Great Buddha is a jouroku standing figure, can be found at the temple. The carved wooden Buddha stands at 4.85m and was created in the Genroku period of 1688 to 1704. Showing peace to all sentiment beings and accepting individual concerns, the form depicts the right hand raised with an open plam and fingers extended, with the left hand down at the figure's side, revealing the intentions of the Buddha.

Renjoji temple is a Nichiren Buddhism Temple established in 1582 by priest Nichijo.
