Dazaifu Tenmangu (太宰府天満宮) is Tenman Shrine located in Fukuoka. It is the top of all Tenman Shrines. Tenman Shrine enshrines Sugawara no Michizane who is the god of education and wisdom. Therefore, many visitors worship Dazaifu Tenmangu for their educational success in school. About 7 million visitors worship every year.
Umegaya Mochi (梅ヶ枝餅)
… is the most popular sweet in Dazaifu. It is Yakimochi, cooked Mochi with Azuki beans. Legend said, when Michizane was moved to Dazaifu, people gave Mochi to Michizane. Because he was on the horse, people attached Mochi on a brunch of Ume tree.
