Hagi (萩) is one of the most popular tourist spots located in Yamaguchi prefecture. It was the former capital of Yamaguchi where many legendary Samurai who accomplished the Meiji Restoration were born. There are many Samurai buildings and spots in Hagi. Especially, Hagi Castle town has many traditional Samurai houses that are registered as the Preservation Districts for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
